PLEASE CONSIDER VOLUNTEERING! It takes many volunteers to run safe and successful events. You'll find job descriptions and can sign-up online.

Volunteering is a GREAT way to learn about orienteering and improve your skills!

REGISTRATION will open several weeks prior to an event. Scroll down to specific event for registration information.

**************************************************************************************************

  • Unless otherwise noted, our events begin at 10AM, and courses close at 2PM.  Flags will be removed after 2PM, so allow yourself enough time to finish by 2PM.
  • There is a maximum 3-hour time limit on courses.
  • Whether or not you complete your course, YOU MUST RETURN TO THE DOWNLOAD STATION SO WE KNOW YOU'RE SAFE! Otherwise, many people may end up involved in a search and rescue mission.
  • All events have options for beginner, intermediate and advanced orienteers.
  • Beginner instruction is always available. At most events, a beginners clinic is offered shortly after the event start time.
  • Most of our events are held at Wisconsin State Parks. A Wisconsin State Parks vehicle admission sticker (or day fee) is required, and is not included in orienteering fees.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Bring a compass if you have one. Loaner compasses are available.
  • A watch or other time-keeping device.
  • Wear weather-appropriate clothes suitable for walking/running outdoors. Closed-toe shoes are a must! Long pants and long-sleeved shirts may help prevent poison ivy, ticks, and the like.
  • Carry a whistle in case of emergency. Carrying a cell phone can't hurt, but cell reception isn't always reliable in the parks.
  • Water bottle or hydration pack
  • Map bag to keep your map dry (available at event, but please save and re-use when possible).
